Football Match (Indonesia vs Netherlands) - Gelora Bung Karno Stadium

Hei it's a long time not to write in this blog. Now, i want to share about my experience when i watched football match, Indonesia vs Netherlands. How lucky i was when i got the free ticket for watching this game. Firstly i want to share a little about Gelora Bung Karno Stadium and football in Indonesia. Gelora Bung Karno Stadium like Maracana in Brazil. It has a great capacity and atmosphere. Gelora Bung Karno itself located in Jakarta (Capital City) and the stadium was made by President Soekarno in the middle of 1958. The design of this stadium has a similarity with Luzhniki Stadium in Russia because on that time Indonesia had a close relationship with Uni Soviet (Now Russia). When this stadium is firstly built, the capacity is more than 100.000 people. Huge capacity, isnt it?. This stadium is firstly used for the multinational sport even called Asian Games in 1962. 

In 2007 exactly when Indonesia was a host for Asia Cup, this stadium was renovated and the capacity decreased into 88.000 people. I think thats enough i tell about this stadium. Gelora Bung Karno Stadium exactly tells about our nation pride and our animo in football and other sport. Now i want to talk about the atmosphere !!!!. For instance, Indonesia is an archipelago country. It is divided into 5 main island, Sumatera, Jawa  Kalimantan, Sulawesi, & Irian. We have great national team. For the official/important match we always play in Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. When our team played, the average attendance almost 80.000 people. We always sing a song, shout loudly especially when national anthem (Indonesia Raya) resound. I think the atmosphere is similar even greater than big stadium in europe. So its great when you visited Jakarta, Indonesia, you must go to this stadium and watch our national team. I guarantee that you will amaze with the crowd.

Oke now i will share about my experience in watching Indonesia vs Netherlands. The match itself hold for our preparing to play against china in October in order to Asia Cup Qualifier. So this is just regular FIFA friendly match. The match itself starts at 21.00 at night. I was going to the stadium at 18.30 after worked and i just arrived at 19.30 pm. Wowww i amazed with the crowd. Its almost 60.000 people who came to stadium. Most of them wore Indonesia Jersey and a small group of them wore netherland jersey. I amazed when i saw bule wiith netherland shirt and local lads support their team with great respect among them. I also amazed with attitude and behaviour of local lads who make bule comfort. When Indonesia raya is sang, almost 55.000 people stand up and sang a song together with the loudest voice that their had (you could watch our atmosphere in this link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iORqjFjoQI). I think that is the most sacred moment in my life hahaahhaaa *kidding. Hei if you were there, you will feel that sensation. Local lads together sing national anthem with no ashame and they try to sing with the loudest voice that they ever had. Weeeww even in England you cant find this.

This match itself ended for Netrherlands victory with 3-0 although we could hold their draw 0-0 in the first half. Siem De Jong was the Man of The Match for Oranje side with 2 goals completed by Arjen Robben with a goal. Kurnia Meiga was the MOTM for Indonesia with the spectacular saved especially for his great save against Robin Van Persie goal attempt. Ehhmm i almost forget, this match was broadcasted into more than 7 countries mate :) so its great honour for Indonesia !!!

Overall i am so happy for this experience although i had watched our national team for many times. Every different matched in Gelora Bung Karno could made different experience. For yet info, in July we will face Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea for the friendly match and in October, we will play against China Republic for the Asia Cup Qualifiers.
